In March, Jeep saw a 15 percent increase in new vehicle sales, making March 2016 the best month for sales that Jeep has ever seen. This also made Jeep’s sales the largest sales gain of any Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US (FCA US) brand in March.
The Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee and Renegade had record-breaking March sales, and the sales of the Jeep Compass increased by 53 percent.
Why the Compass?
“As consumers continue to shift their buying preference toward utility vehicles and trucks, they are walking directly into the FCA wheelhouse,” Reid Bigland, FCA’s head of sales in North America, said in a statement.
Aside from the change in buying trends to SUVs and trucks, the Compass is an attractive purchase because it is fuel efficient and with a starting MSRP of $19,595, it is also affordable to purchase or lease. The Compass also comes standard with some great convenience features like flat fold seats for extra cargo space when needed, 1 year of free SiriusXM satellite radio service and a remote USB port.
From the excellent Jeep sales and the 11 percent sales increase from two other FCA US brands, Dodge and Ram, FCA US saw their total March sales increase by 8.1 percent.
With this month’s introduction of the the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan to dealerships, FCA US may continue to see a great increase in sales.
